The Three Musketeers and Les Trois Mousquetaires by Alexandre Dumas
The story of The Three Musketeers is so well-known that it even has a Disney version starting Mickey Mouse. D'Artagnan is an adventuresome young man who meets the three musketeers, Aramis, Athos, and Porthos. He finds himself as a minor player in the romance between the French queen and the Duke of Buckingham, and he is hunted by Milady de Winter.
The Three Musketeers is the source of the motto "all for one, and one for all." Dumas wrote the novel in 1844. The English edition of The Three Musketeers was added to Project Gutenberg in 1998. The French edition of Les Trois Mousquetaires was added to the Gutenberg ebook library in 2004.
The Count of Monte Cristo and Le Comte de Monte-Cristo by Alexandre Dumas
Of all of Alexandre Dumas' books, The Count of Monte Cristo is the most complex. Edmond Dantes obsesses over his days as a prisoner, and his future success as the Count of Monte Cristo is build on his desire for revenge. The 1844 book is a classic adventure story, and has plenty of sword-fighting, danger, tragedy, and romance.
The French edition The Count of Monte Cristo was added in 2006. There are four volumes to download:

The Celebrated Crimes series by Alexandre Dumas
Although they are not available in French editions, the Celebrated Crimes books are great books for Dumas fans who want to read his shorter works. Some of the subjects of Celebrated Crimes include the powerful and corrupt Borgias family, Joan of Naples, Cenci, Mary Stuart, and the Marquise De Ganges. The books can be downloaded separately or as one large collection. The Celebrated Crimes collection was added to Project Gutenberg in September, 2004.
